Cherohala Skyway, named for its path through the Cherokee and Natahala National Forests, is well known in motorcycle and sports car circles for its long, sweeping corners and spectacular views. Winding up and over 5,400-foot high mountains for 15 miles in North Carolina and descending 21 miles into Tennessee, the skyway features rest area facilities. Designated a National Scenic Byway, there are no gas stations, restaurants or hotels along the route.
